1. Who we are
Artemis Applications UK Limited develops Questibbles, an educational game that combines questions, collecting and optional outdoor exploration. This policy explains how we handle information in Questibbles and on the Artemis Applications website.
Artemis Applications UK Limited is responsible for the personal information it controls. Some features rely on Apple or other services that process information under their own privacy terms.
2. Information Questibbles uses
Your profile
Questibbles stores your selected display name, age range, education stage, avatar, appearance, settings and accessibility preferences. It uses age ranges rather than asking for your full birth date.
Gameplay and learning
To run the game and show your progress, Questibbles records answers, scores, response times, question types, review history, subjects studied, XP, achievements, cards, discoveries, Hunts and relevant daily activity totals.
These records support progression, personalised revision and progress reports. Learning insights are part of the game, not third-party advertising analytics. They do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Files you choose
The app lets you select files to import Knowledge Packs, learning records or saved progress, and to export backups and reports. Selecting a file does not give Questibbles unrestricted access to all your files.
3. Location and remembered places
With your permission, Questibbles uses your current location and device heading for the map, nearby Nibbles, Hunts, compass and distance calculations. It can operate in stationary or indoor mode without location permission.
The app keeps Hunt and distance summaries, not a detailed walking route. With the separate Remember where I finish a card feature enabled, it saves one approximate coordinate rounded to about 100 metres and, where available, a town name for a completed card. This option is off by default, and remembered places stay in your local game data unless you choose to export that data.
You can disable location permission in device settings and turn off or clear remembered places in Questibbles under Settings → Location & Privacy. Apple location and place-name services may process location information to provide these functions.
4. Children's privacy
Questibbles is designed for younger learners as well as adults. Child profiles are private by default. Younger players choose a display name from a predefined list rather than entering unrestricted custom text. No full date of birth is required by the player profile.
We do not sell personal information or use children's information for targeted advertising. We do not publish your precise location to other players. Parents and carers may contact us about personal information controlled by Artemis Applications.
5. Teacher Mode and learning reports
Players can choose to export reports for parents and educators. A report can include the learner's display name, education stage, answers, accuracy, response times, topic progress, review activity and daily learning totals. Learning reports do not include GPS coordinates or walking routes.
Teacher Mode imports records only following user action and confirmation. Imported learner records are stored locally in a separate file from the teacher's own progress. Teachers can add names, group labels and notes and can remove records. Anyone who receives a report must handle it appropriately, particularly when it concerns a child.
Reports shared through Mail, Messages, Files or another service are then subject to that service's privacy and storage practices. An exported copy is not automatically removed when you reset your game progress.
6. Apple Game Center
If connected to Game Center, Questibbles submits supported scores and achievement progress, including relevant learning, collection and distance totals. Apple's Game Center may display your nickname, avatar, leaderboard scores and achievements according to its features and your settings.

7. Storage, backups and deletion
Questibbles stores your profile, settings and game progress on your device. Imported Teacher Mode records are kept in a separate local file. You may export game backups and choose where to save them, including services such as iCloud Drive when selected through Files.
Use Data Management to delete local player progress. Use Location & Privacy to clear remembered places. Teacher Mode has separate record-deletion controls. Removing local data does not automatically delete external backups, learning records already shared with teachers or information managed by Apple Game Center.
Locally stored information generally remains until you delete, replace or remove it. We keep any information you send to us for an enquiry only as long as reasonably needed to handle it and meet applicable legal requirements.
8. Website and third-party services
The Artemis Applications website uses GitHub Pages hosting. Hosting providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to serve and secure the website. Questibbles uses Apple services for location, place names and Game Center. We do not currently integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs into the Questibbles app.
The website's contact form is not currently enabled. Do not enter personal information into it expecting an enquiry to be delivered. If our practices or service providers change, we will update this policy.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. When Artemis Applications is responsible for a restricted international transfer, we will use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
9. Your choices and data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, including UK GDPR, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal information controlled by Artemis Applications. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive certain data in a portable form, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Our lawful basis depends on the specific purpose and circumstances, including delivering game functionality, responding to requests and any processing that requires consent. Children's interests receive particular consideration. To exercise a right concerning information held by Apple or a teacher, you may need to contact that party directly.

You may raise a data protection concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy as Questibbles changes. We will update the date above and provide appropriate information about material changes.
A simpler version for young players
Questibbles remembers what you learn so you can see how you improve. You can choose whether to use your real location for map adventures. You can still play indoors without it.
We do not save a map of everywhere you walk. You can choose to remember the approximate town where you finished a card, and you can clear that memory.
A learning report can be shared with your teacher or a grown-up when someone chooses to send it. We do not sell your information or use it to show targeted adverts.
